Paraway Pastoral Company is seeking a Governess to join our team at Tanbar Station, in Queensland’s Channel Country. Covering around 1 million hectares, Tanbar runs a large trading operation on country that transforms when the Cooper Creek floods, producing vast feed. It’s an iconic property where you’ll experience the unique conditions of floodplain grazing and life on one of Australia’s great cattle stations. The Tanbar compound includes comfortable living quarters, a staff kitchen and recreation club and horse-riding facilities. At Tanbar, staff enjoy swimming and skiing in the Cooper creek and attending campdrafts and social events in the Channel country. We are seeking an experienced governess for 2026 to teach two primary age students through Mount Isa School of The Air. Mid-January 2026 start. Experience, skills and requirements Previous governess or teaching experience an advantage A fun and positive attitude to the school room Computer literate – proficient level of skill in Microsoft Office applications Good time-management and organisation skills to deal with the multi-tasking required in a school environment Willingness to travel long distances and unrestricted licence Must commit to a full school year Blue Card.
