About the role We are seeking a degree-qualified General Accountant to join our finance team in Swan Hill. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will work within a multidisciplinary environment alongside production, logistics, quality assurance and commercial teams. This role focuses on the integrity of our financial information, compliance-based reporting, and the continuous improvement of our accounting systems and controls. Core responsibilities Provide advice on accounting systems, reporting structures and processes that support effective planning and decision making across the business. Examine and analyse income, expenditure and key cost drivers across processing, procurement, distribution and overheads, and prepare clear management reports. Conduct financial investigations, including variance analysis, product costing and performance reviews, and present findings and recommendations to management. Assist in the formulation and review of budgets, forecasts and accounting policies, ensuring alignment with Australian Accounting Standards and internal governance. Support and maintain robust record keeping and internal control practices across all entities. Prepare monthly management accounts and assist with year end financial statements and external audit requirements. Contribute to ongoing improvement of our ERP and reporting tools to ensure reliable, timely financial and operational information. About you Bachelor degree in Accounting (or equivalent). Minimum 2 years experience in an accounting role with responsibility for reporting, analysis and systems (manufacturing, agribusiness, logistics or related sectors highly regarded). Experience in the meat industry or broader food / manufacturing environment is an advantage but not essential. Strong understanding of financial reporting, budgeting and accounting principles. Confident working with accounting systems and Excel, with a focus on accuracy and detail. Able to communicate clearly with both finance and non-finance stakeholders and work effectively in a team. Hold, or be willing to obtain, a National Police Clearance. Hold a valid driver's licence.
