Description Join Downer’s Business Services Centre (BSC), where we deliver essential payroll and finance services across Australia. As a Payroll Specialist, you’ll play a key role in ensuring accurate and timely processing of employee terminations, redundancies, and long service leave (LSL) reconciliations. This is a 12-month fixed-term contract opportunity within a collaborative, high-performing team environment. Key Responsibilities Accurately calculate and process termination payments, redundancies, demobilisations, and deed of releases. Complete and reconcile long service leave (LSL) balances, payouts, and cash-outs. Provide high-quality customer service by responding to payroll queries with accuracy and professionalism. Ensure compliance with payroll legislation, company policies, and service level agreements. Collaborate with HR, Finance, and business site representatives to resolve discrepancies. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, payroll projects, and knowledge sharing within the team. What You Will Bring 4 years of end-to-end payroll experience, including complex terminations and LSL calculations. Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, superannuation, PAYG, and WorkCover requirements. Experience with SAP, Oracle V12 and/or Oracle Express HR highly desirable. Advanced Excel and strong analytical skills to manage reconciliations and identify discrepancies. Proven ability to deliver excellent customer service and build relationships with stakeholders.
