Field Technicians - Substation Network Upgrade (12-Month Engagement) Join a state-wide infrastructure upgrade delivering critical connectivity across the electricity network. We're seeking experienced Field Technicians or Field Engineers to assist with the replacement and recommissioning of Nokia network switches across control rooms in operational electricity substations . This role is ideal for technicians with experience working in live or high-voltage environments who take pride in safe, precise, and high-quality technical delivery. Key Responsibilities Isolate, remove, replace, and recommission Nokia network switches within substation control rooms. Conduct fault diagnosis, testing, and verification of new equipment installations. Ensure all work is performed safely in accordance with live substation access procedures. Coordinate with network engineers and project teams to minimise downtime and maintain service continuity. Maintain accurate records, test documentation, and compliance with all safety and work permits. Skills & Experience Demonstrated experience in live substation, transmission, or high-voltage environments . Background as a Field Technician, Network Technician, or Electrical/Telecommunications Technician . Practical experience with switch replacement, commissioning, or network hardware installation . Familiarity with Nokia or equivalent networking equipment highly regarded. Current Electrical or Telecommunications licence , substation access, or switching authority desirable.
