About The Role As a key member of our Senior Leadership Team, the General Manager Mission & Culture will play a pivotal role in ensuring the Good Shepherd mission is alive and thriving across every aspect of our client‑centred services. Working closely with the Executive General Manager – Mission & Culture, your focus will include: Mission Leadership & Formation – Drive initiatives that deepen understanding and commitment to our mission. Heritage & Team Leadership – Champion programs that honour our rich heritage while leading a passionate team. Values‑Driven Culture – Embed and nurture an organisational culture that reflects our core values. Key Responsibilities Mission Leadership, Formation & Training Work with the EGM Mission and Culture to review, refine and implement key priorities identified within the GSANZ Strategic Plan, Mission Effectiveness Strategy and GSANZ Operational Plan. Collaborate with leaders to ensure strong understanding and application of the Mission Effectiveness Strategy. Support the continuous deepening, monitoring and improvement of mission impact at GSANZ underpinned by co‑responsibility for mission. As required, contribute to and convene and report to formal committees and working groups involved in mission‑related events and strategic priorities as per the annual GSANZ Operational Plan. Co‑design and facilitate differentiated learning activities that deepen mission understanding and foster the values and charism of Good Shepherd throughout all areas of GSANZ. Collaborate with senior leadership to engage with mission partners and Sisters across Australia to support mission alignment and engagement locally, regionally and globally. Contribute to the development, implementation, evaluation and responsive evolution of the GSANZ Intercultural Plan and accompanying Good Shepherd Australia First Nations Roadmap. Lead collaborative efforts to integrate the Mission Effectiveness Strategy with the Lived Experience Framework and the Impact Framework. Heritage Team Leadership Work with the Heritage Programmes Co‑ordinator and programme leaders to ensure the enactment of trauma‑informed and client‑centred strategic and operational priorities. Activate the strategic goals identified within the Mission Gold Thread of the strategic plan in a manner that is responsive to the needs of clients, former residents, Sisters, GSANZ leaders and staff. Collaborate with Heritage Team leadership to plan, implement, monitor, evaluate and refine the Heritage Team work plans to ensure delivery on the relevant aspects of the GSANZ Operational Plan. Co‑design reports and mission impact dashboards to support monitoring and improvement of mission impact in the work of the Mission and Heritage Team. Cultivating a Values‑Driven Organisational Culture Demonstrate integrity and stewardship to drive a culture focused on accountability, interdependency, collaboration, curious discovery, and a client‑centric mindset. Work with leaders and their teams throughout GSANZ to develop opportunities for deepening awareness of and commitment to the shared values as expressed in the Employee Code of Conduct. Lead and work in a manner that exemplifies a commitment to a values‑driven workplace culture that prioritises the value of every person and is underpinned by justice, reconciliation, audacity and zeal. Contribute to ongoing dialogue, learning, leadership and inclusive engagement with all stakeholders regarding cultural and physical safety and well‑being of staff, clients and former residents. About You A bachelor or higher level degree in education, social sciences, theology or related discipline. Formal qualifications in adult education, leadership, project management and/or programme evaluation desirable. At least 5 years of senior leadership experience in an organisation within the education and training and/or social services sector. Demonstrated experience in training and development, preferably with complex, integrated partnerships and/or networked models of service delivery. Experience in effective change management with a focus on co‑design and co‑responsibility for outcomes aligned with organisational strategic priorities across multiple service delivery sites. Demonstrated ability to work with cross‑functional teams and subject‑matter experts to achieve aligned objectives. Experience in working with First Nations communities and a deep understanding of intersectionality, desired. Understanding of the evolving nature of the social services sector in post‑colonial Australia and the historic and current role of religious institutes in the social services sector, desired. Demonstrated commitment to safeguarding children and vulnerable adults.
