You will lead a team of 30 finance professionals including an Accounting Team, Credit Manager, AP Supervisor and Payroll, managing month‑end close, consolidation across 11 entities (AU, UK, NZ), statutory reporting, tax compliance, cash flow management, and transactional processing teams. With significant accountability, you will be responsible for providing effective strategic and operational financial leadership and management. This includes preparing accurate and timely financial and commercial information for Management, the Board and external stakeholders. This is a transformation mandate where you will lead the modernisation of the finance function to keep pace with rapid growth. Over the past two years, the business has completed over 10 acquisitions and opened multiple distribution centres, creating both complexity and opportunity. Your role will be to bring structure, efficiency, and strategic capability to a finance function that is ready to evolve. In your first 6‑12 months, your mandate as the General Manager Finance will be to assess current processes, build credibility with the CEO and founding family, and begin implementing meaningful improvements to systems, structure, and reporting capability. The business is heavily reliant on Excel for consolidation and reporting, presenting a significant opportunity to introduce modern BI tools and analytics capability. The right candidate will have deep technical grounding from a Big 4 or mid‑tier firm and proven experience leading controllership, consolidations, M&A activity (including PPA), and ideally ERP migration in medium to large organisations. Responsibilities Financial Operations & Reporting: Manage month‑end close, consolidation across 11 entities, and delivery of accurate statutory and management reporting to the business, Board and PE investors Control & Governance: Ensure integrity of the numbers through robust balance sheet reconciliations, implementation of controls, and resolution of issues as they arise Budget & Forecasting: Lead the annual budget process and quarterly forecast updates, coordinating presentations to management and the Board Cash Flow Management: Oversee daily and monthly cash projections, manage FX exposures, bank relationships, covenant reporting, and working capital optimisation Systems Modernisation: Drive the implementation of modern BI and analytics tools, and lead the future ERP migration (currently MS Great Plains, discontinued 2031) Team Leadership: Build capability and accountability across transactional teams (AR, AP, Payroll), strengthen structure, and develop emerging talent in the finance function M&A Support: Provide technical support for ongoing acquisition activity, including consolidation and PPA Stakeholder Partnership: Build trust and influence with the CEO, founders, ELT members, and external stakeholders through presence, credibility, and commercial insight Candidate Profile You are a CA or CPA qualified Finance Professional with 10 years of experience leading controllership, reporting and governance in medium to large organisations. A demonstrated technical grounding achieved from a Big 4 or mid‑tier firm is essential for this role.
