Who we are For 30 years Superior Food Services has kept Australia’s cafés, restaurants, schools, hospitals and aged-care facilities stocked with the dry, chilled, frozen, meat and seafood products they trust. We are Australian-owned, operate 20 branches and two protein-processing facilities (Global Meats, Mooloolah River Fisheries). The role As HR Adviser, you will provide day-to-day HR support across all states and functions, ensuring our people practices remain compliant, consistent and easy to follow. Key responsibilities include: Interpret and apply relevant industrial instruments and employment legislation for rostering, pay, leave and termination matters. Provide guidance on performance, attendance, grievance and disciplinary processes – often by phone or Teams to regional sites. Manage recruitment for roles up to supervisor level: draft job ads, screen candidates, conduct interviews, complete reference checks and onboard new hires via our Employment Hero HRIS. Maintain accurate employee records and generate monthly HR metrics (turnover, absenteeism, training completion). Support annual HR activities such as EBA communications, remuneration reviews, flu-voucher programs, workers’ compensation renewals and return-to-work coordination. Promote a positive safety culture by assisting with injury reporting, WorkCover claims and return-to-work documentation. Develop and maintain clear, user-friendly HR procedures to ensure consistency across all sites. Contribute to initiatives such as employee engagement surveys, diversity outreach or leadership development programs to help attract and retain talent in the food-service sector. About you 3 years generalist HR experience in manufacturing, logistics, food processing or another multi-site, blue-collar environment. A practical communicator who can translate policy into actionable advice for busy operational teams. Comfortable managing a high volume of enquiries and seeing every case through to resolution. Proficient in HRIS and payroll systems (Employment Hero, MicrOpay or SAP experience highly regarded). Degree or diploma in HR, Business or a related field.
