Job Description We’re building a talent pool of Senior Interior Designers interested in joining our Sydney Studio as new projects go live. As a Senior Interior Designer, you’ll be an integral part of our design team, working on a diverse range of projects across workplace design, commercial buildings and education/health. You’ll collaborate with architects, strategists, and other designers to create thoughtful and innovative interior environments that enhance how people live, work, and connect. This role plays a critical role in both leading design outcomes and driving delivery across large-scale, often complex projects workplace projects for clients across many sectors. Key Tasks and Responsibilities Lead the design process from concept through to completion, ensuring design excellence and innovation. Develop and present compelling design concepts, material palettes, and spatial strategies. Oversee/participate in documentation, ensuring high-quality detailing and technical accuracy. Manage client relationships, acting as a key point of contact throughout the project lifecycle. Collaborate with internal teams, consultants, and contractors to coordinate design intent and project delivery. Provide mentorship and guidance to junior designers, fostering their professional growth. The ideal candidates will have: Several years' experience gained as a senior interior designer with a leading design firm, with a strong portfolio of completed workplace projects. Experience working a variety of typologies, current or recent specialisation in workplace interiors is an must have experience. Proficiency in Revit is essential. Ability to lead and inspire design teams, with strong conceptual thinking and attention to detail. Excellent presentation, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills. Project Management experience in coordinating teams, budgets, and timelines effectively. Solid documentation skills, with attention to detail A good understanding of Australia standards and experience working in the Australian market A strong design sensibility, with the ability to contribute to concept development A collaborative and proactive mindset Experience working across multiple project stages – from concept to delivery Confidence presenting ideas and communicating with teams and consultants A desire to keep learning and growing your skills At Hassell, our interiors team works across a range of typologies – including workplace, education, health, hospitality and cultural spaces.
