Role Overview We are looking for an experienced, collaborative and delivery‑focused Principal Aboriginal Heritage Consultant to join our growing Heritage team in NSW. The role can be based in Newcastle, the Central Coast or Sydney. As Principal Aboriginal Heritage Consultant, you will lead and deliver Aboriginal heritage related projects, provide strategic guidance, and ensure the quality of deliverables. Key Responsibilities Lead the delivery of heritage projects, overseeing project teams and managing budgets, timelines and fieldwork delivery. Engage with clients to understand requirements, provide expert advice on heritage and archaeological matters, and develop tailored solutions that meet regulatory and best‑practice standards. Engage stakeholders internally and externally, ensuring effective communication and stakeholder engagement. Present technical findings and translate information for non‑technical audiences including clients and community. Apply heritage and archaeological legislation, regulations and guidelines to assess significance, develop conservation strategies and mitigate impacts. Mentor junior staff, supporting their development in heritage and archaeological management. Key Requirements Degree in Cultural Heritage Management, Archaeology, Anthropology or related field. Minimum of 10 years’ experience, preferably in a consultancy environment. Knowledge of NSW and Commonwealth heritage legislation and associated regulations and guidelines. Demonstrated leadership experience, including project management and team coordination. Client relationship management experience. Australian driver’s licence (4WD experience desirable).
