Contribute to innovative research within the Sydney Infectious Diseases Institute Full time, fixed term opportunity until December 2027 Base salary starting at ($113,400 - $121,054) 17% superannuation About the opportunity The Sydney Infectious Diseases Institute (Sydney ID) brings together leading researchers across the University and partner institutions to tackle pressing health challenges posed by infectious diseases. The Institute’s work spans laboratory, clinical, and population-based research, driving discoveries that improve health outcomes locally and globally. The Research Postdoctoral Associate will contribute to advancing the Institute’s research agenda through independent and collaborative research activities. The role provides an opportunity to develop research expertise, support scholarly outputs, and engage with a vibrant community of academic and professional staff. Working under the supervision of Professor Jamie Triccas, the successful candidate will play a key part in generating high-quality research outcomes, contributing to publications, and supporting a culture of innovation and excellence. Your key responsibilities will be to: conduct research, scholarly or professional activity, independently or as part of a team, contributing to discipline knowledge develop and refine independent research skills under the supervision of more senior academic staff provide informal mentoring and advice to students within the discipline carry out administrative tasks and contribute to school or faculty meetings contribute to a positive workplace culture in which diversity of thought, collaboration, and excellence are valued and enabled understand and contribute to furthering the University and School’s strategic agenda undertake other duties and contribute to projects appropriate within the classification level as required. About you a developing network of academic, industry and professional partners and stakeholders doctorate of PhD in microbiology or immunology, or a related field. a developing research profile in vaccine development and infectious disease models, with a focus on coronavirus immunology demonstrated understanding of the subject-matter within the discipline experience conducting original research and/or engaging in scholarly activity demonstrated ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks in a busy environment ability to effectively communicate.
