Description About the role An exciting opportunity has arisen for a capable and motivated individual to join Council’s Natural Areas team on a permanent full-time basis. The position is located at Council’s Rydalmere Operations Centre. The position plays a key role in the delivery of Council’s Bushland Management Program and will work in close collaboration with Councils Environment and Sustainability team, and other government organisations to deliver best practice environmental outcomes for Council’s natural areas. The position reports to and assists the Supervisor Natural Areas in natural areas issues and matters as required. About You The successful candidate will have a significant amount of relevant natural areas project management experience and working with contractors in the delivery of natural resource programs. The individual will preferably have 5 to 10 years’ experience in bushland regeneration and or natural areas management. You will also bring: Proven ability to deliver natural areas programs, including manage procurement, contractors and budgets. Ability to research and investigate matters in a methodical manner and be able to convey information to others in relation to environmental matters. Excellent communication, project management and stakeholder engagement. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills. Ability to lead, coordinate, and deliver outcomes in a multidisciplinary environment. Seek and coordinate grant funding for natural areas programs. Qualifications: Degree in natural resources management. environmental science, ecology or related discipline. NSW Class C Drivers Licence. What’s on offer Permanent Full Time 35 hours per week.
