The role of Technical Sales Representative is a highly visible position within the business. This role is to be performed with the highest level of integrity as you are directly representing the company’s good reputation. It is also acutely important to listen to customers and to communicate industry changes to management to enable development of new products and supply channels to fully satisfy customer demands. A. Management Reporting Prepare reports on customer activity, sales performance, and the marketability of goods and services, including maintaining and submitting records of business expenses incurred during the sales process. Monitor changes in customer needs and competitor activity, and report any developments, including negative customer feedback, to the Managing Director. B. Sales Tasks 1. Actively promote the business and products, keep customers informed of new developments verbally, via meetings, electronically or via printed catalogues & promotions. 2. Develop new customers by compiling lists of prospective client businesses using directories and other sources. 3. Increase opportunities with customers by acquiring and updating knowledge of employers' and competitors' goods and services and market conditions. 4. Liaise with suppliers, promote and enhance supply channels. 5. Assess customers' needs, recommending and explaining our goods and services to them. 6. Quoting, negotiating prices and credit terms, completing contracts and recording orders. 7. Arranging delivery of goods, installation of equipment and the provision of services. 8. Assist customers with technical information, test reports or other documents 13. Maintain customer master file, ensuring all contacts details and billing information is current. 15. Make recommendations in relation to stock, new product or strategic alliances with customers or supplies that may benefit the business. 16. Other duties as required by the Managing Director. Requirements Minimum 1 - 3 yrs experience in a Technical and Sales environment. Professional Sales Training would be an advantage. Practical trade experience at a technician/trade level is preferred. Experience in connectors and connectivity applications for the electronics industry. Technical writing experience is preferred for preparing customer presentation materials. Good communication skills and telephone manner. Good computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office, creative programs like Adobe Illustrator/photoshop and CRM based software's. Good understanding of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems High level of enthusiasm, maturity and professionalism. Good negotiation & problem-solving skills to ensure all tasks are followed through to completion.
