About the School Woodstock Flexible Learning Centre (WFLC) is a unique collaboration between four local state high schools, located on the stunning 302-acre Woodstock Farm at Tamborine. WFLC delivers an intensive one-term program designed to re-engage Year 8 and 9 students through hands-on, practical learning. The program focuses on building resilience, interpersonal skills, and practical literacy and numeracy, delivered both onsite and in partnership with community organisations. About the Role WFLC is seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Department to lead this innovative program. You will oversee a small team, including two Student Support Officers, to deliver a high-quality, outdoor learning experience that supports students in re-engaging with education. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills to build relationships with students, families, sponsors, and community partners. Flexibility in program delivery, while maintaining educational integrity, is essential. Experience in outdoor or practical learning environments and working with external stakeholders is highly regarded. Key Responsibilities: Lead the department to deliver a shared educational vision focused on quality learning outcomes. Embed socially just practices in daily school life and set high standards for student and staff performance. Build partnerships with students, families, community groups, and other stakeholders. Manage human, financial, and curriculum resources to achieve program goals. Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and policies. The ideal candidate will possess: Current first aid qualifications and MR Class driver's licence (or willingness to obtain). Demonstrated leadership experience, preferably in outdoor or practical learning settings. Interested?
