The Capability branch is committed to a thriving and capable workforce equipped with the skills and confidence to support every student to realise their potential. A key part of the Capability branch is the Education Futures Institute (EFI) that delivers high-quality, evidence-informed and equitable capability development for a diverse workforce across key career stages. The EFI provides high quality, targeted professional learning for staff located in metropolitan, regional, rural and remote locations across the state. The EFI empowers staff with the skills, knowledge and capability to excel in their role. The role of Senior Education Officer Capability - Special Schools is offered on a full-time temporary basis, until 12 December 2026, unless otherwise determined. About the Role As the Senior Education Officer, Capability (Special Schools) you will work with regional teams and collaborate with a network of peers around the state to provide targeted capability development in the following priority areas: Delivering Australian Curriculum for students requiring a different year level partial (DYL-P) or highly individualised curriculum plan (HICP) Developing Individual Curriculum Plans for students requiring a different year level partial (DYL-P) or highly individualised curriculum plan (HICP) Delivering quality Senior Schooling options and understanding the Guidelines for Individual Learning (GIL) and QCIA requirements Recording and reporting student learning utilising One School Promotion of evidence-based pedagogies for students with an ICP Enhanced collaboration between school leaders to develop capability and confidence to improve learning outcomes for the targeted student cohort The Senior Education Officer Capability reports to the Director, Education Futures Institute in the negotiated base region.
