Working in a small, experienced team, you will provide research, analysis and policy advice to support programs that enhance leadership, cooperation and capability across the region. The Role As an APS6-equivalent Foreign Policy Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in supporting policy development and program delivery across the division’s international engagement work. Key responsibilities include: Conducting research and analysis to inform strategic policy priorities Preparing briefs, reports and talking points for senior executives Supporting program implementation, monitoring and reporting Managing information, data and ICT systems that underpin analysis and administration Coordinating engagement across internal teams, government agencies and partner organisations Supporting strong governance, risk and recordkeeping practices You’ll work closely with colleagues who are collaborative, experienced and motivated by impact, in a team environment that values initiative, quality and professionalism. The Ideal Person You are a capable and motivated professional with experience in policy, analysis or program management, ideally within government or an international context. You think critically, communicate clearly and can balance detail with strategic insight. You will thrive in this role if you: Have experience in developing or supporting policy initiatives in a complex environment Can analyse information and translate findings into practical advice Are skilled in stakeholder engagement and collaborative problem-solving Write with clarity and confidence and manage competing priorities effectively Value teamwork, diversity and purpose-driven public service A security clearance at NV2 level is required.
