The Role Reporting within the finance function, the Procurement Services Manager will review and uplift procurement frameworks, templates and guidance materials, ensuring alignment with the Commonwealth Procurement Rules and best practice. You’ll provide timely and practical advice to staff, helping them plan and manage their procurements with confidence. Key priorities include: Reviewing and updating procurement policies, forms and templates to meet current and upcoming CPR requirements Providing expert, timely advice to staff on procurement planning, evaluation and contract management Supporting staff capability through on-the-job guidance and informal training Strengthening recordkeeping and assurance processes. Preparing reports, briefs and responses to audit or internal review recommendations Working collaboratively with finance colleagues to align procurement with broader governance and financial management systems This is not a high-volume transactional role; others handle the day-to-day purchase orders and supplier processes. Your focus will be on uplift, compliance, and capability-building. The Ideal Person You’re someone who enjoys taking ownership and creating order out of complexity. You bring a strong grasp of public sector procurement and understand how to balance compliance with practicality. With excellent writing and communication skills, you can translate the CPRs into clear, usable tools and guidance. You’ll be comfortable working with intelligent, detail-oriented stakeholders, many of whom have legal or professional backgrounds, and you’ll gain credibility quickly through sound judgement and responsiveness.
