Skillforce Recruitment are currently seeking Trade Qualified Auto Electricians for our Valued Client. based in Rocklea QLD. Key Responsibilities and Duties About the Role Diagnosis and Troubleshooting: Use advanced computer-based diagnostic equipment, multimeters, and other testing tools to locate and identify electrical and electronic malfunctions. Repair and Replacement: Repair or replace faulty electrical parts, components, and wiring, including defective alternators, starter motors, generators, voltage regulators, fuses, lamps, and switches. Installation: Install new electrical equipment and electronic components and accessories such as GPS navigation systems, anti-theft alarms, air conditioning units, central locking, lighting systems, and digital displays. Maintenance and Servicing: Perform routine maintenance and safety inspections on vehicle electrical systems, including testing batteries, charging systems, and headlight alignment. System Upgrades: Enhance vehicle electrical systems by integrating modern electronic features and ensuring compatibility with existing systems. Interpretation of Schematics: Read and interpret complex electrical schematic diagrams and drawings to perform installations and repairs accurately. Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all relevant Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) legislation and Australian standards, ensuring all work is performed safely and effectively. Communication: Discuss problems and repair plans with vehicle owners or team leaders, providing accurate time and cost estimates for the work required. Skills and Qualifications Education: A Certificate III in Automotive Electrical Technology, typically obtained through a four-year apprenticeship, is the primary qualification required in Australia. Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of automotive electrical and mechanical systems, circuits, and principles. Diagnostic Proficiency: Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and software to identify complex issues. Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills to address intricate electrical faults. Manual Skills: Strong manual dexterity and attention to detail when working with intricate wiring and components. Communication: Effective communication skills to collaborate with colleagues and clearly explain technical issues to customers. Licensing: Relevant electrical licensing and a valid driver's licence (potentially heavy rigid, depending on the role's focus) may be required. Work Environment: Ability to work in a workshop environment, which may involve exposure to dust, noise, and potentially hazardous substances.
