About the Role We are currently recruiting for a HR Manager to lead the full human resources function at a gold-producing mine site in North Queensland. This is a site-based role reporting to the Head of Human Resources, with direct engagement and influence at the operational leadership level. This newly created role will take ownership of all on-site HR activity, including managing a team comprising an HR Superintendent and HR Advisors. It’s a highly visible position with a strong ER/IR component and a clear mandate to uplift leadership capability and shape culture across the site. You’ll work closely with the General Manager of Operations and functional leaders to ensure HR processes are embedded, compliant, and aligned to both corporate strategy and operational performance. Key Responsibilities Lead and mentor the on-site HR team, including an HR Superintendent and HR Advisors, Provide expert advice and oversight across employee and industrial relations, including investigations, grievances, union engagement and disciplinary matters, Drive and implement site-based people strategies including workforce planning, succession, performance management, and development initiatives, Ensure compliance with relevant employment legislation, enterprise agreements, and internal policy frameworks, Act as a trusted advisor to the General Manager and site leadership team on all people and culture matters, Deliver practical and commercially minded HR guidance that supports a safe, respectful and performance-driven workforce. About You Proven experience in a senior HR role within the mining, resources or heavy industry sector, Strong knowledge of Australian employment law and industrial instruments (Fair Work Act, Modern Awards, EA compliance), Demonstrated experience managing or leading an on-site HR team, Comfortable working in a dynamic, operational setting with exposure to frontline leadership, Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Industrial Relations or a related discipline, Able to build rapport across all levels of the business – from senior leadership to supervisors.
