DTF OGC DTF OGC provides internal legal and advisory services to the Treasurer, the Minister for Finance, the DTF Secretary and board, and other DTF business units. The team advises on the full spectrum of issues faced by our stakeholders. The DTF OGC team has an exciting opportunity for a Law Graduate (VPS 2.1.6) to join its team on a full-time basis. You will have a unique opportunity to train as a graduate lawyer and develop your skills by working in a dynamic team across a wide variety of legal areas. You will have the opportunity to contribute to important work across government, develop your talents and find new interests. It is expected that you will be able to complete 3 graduate rotations in different departments over 12 months, eventually settling in DTF OGC. Those rotations will not necessarily be legal rotations and may involve policy work. About the role In this ongoing opportunity, you will: Undertake legal research and communicate your findings. Assist with drafting and proofreading advice, contracts, legal instruments, correspondence, briefs for Ministers and senior executives, and Cabinet submissions and policy proposals. Contribute to DTF OGC's positive culture by working cooperatively and flexibly with a diverse team of lawyers. Support the development of close, effective and open relationships with other DTF business units, other departments and agencies. Undertake other tasks relevant to DTF OGC's responsibilities, including corporate development and projects. About you We are seeking applications from candidates with demonstrable experience in: Communication skills – ability to communicate ideas clearly, concisely and with a logical structure. Eligibility criteria You must: have completed an undergraduate or postgraduate law degree between 1 January 2023 and 1 January 2026 which allows you admission to practise as an Australian lawyer; have unrestricted working rights in Australia at the time of application; and * not have taken a voluntary redundancy from the Victorian public sector in the 3 years up to the intended start date of 2 February 2026.
