About the role The Lead Solution Architect provides strategic and technical leadership for the design and delivery of complex solution architectures across enterprise-wide transformation initiatives. This includes core platform modernisation, digital uplift, cloud migration and enterprise integration. The role demands independent thinking and strong architectural judgement — not just following instructions — to shape solutions that meet business, security and compliance requirements while enabling delivery teams to remain agile and adaptive. Success requires balancing innovation with legacy realities, influencing senior stakeholders by clearly articulating architecture decisions in business terms. You may also lead other solution architects within major programs or cross-cutting initiatives, acting as a senior technical authority and mentor. You’ll play a critical role in stakeholder engagement, technical decision-making and managing architectural interdependencies across systems and vendors. About the Team Reporting to the Principal Enterprise Architect this role sits within the Enterprise Architect Branch in the Enterprise Transformation Division. You’ll join a strategic, collaborative team of architects and engineers, who combine insight and technical depth to design future-ready solutions. What we’re looking for Significant architecture experience, including leading solution design for complex programs as well as: Architecture leadership: experience leading solution design across the full delivery lifecycle (inception to implementation), managing dependencies and risks. Technical expertise: deep understanding of enterprise integration patterns, cloud native and hybrid architectures, multi-cloud delivery and system decomposition. Business alignment: Exposure to business architecture practices such as capability modelling, value streams, and strategy alignment Influence and communication: proven ability to engage senior stakeholders, articulate architecture decisions in business language, and guide cross-functional teams toward strategic outcomes. Leadership and coaching: demonstrated experience leading other solution architects or technical designers, uplifting practices and influencing across architecture, engineering and business domains. Demonstrated experience leading other solution architects or technical designers within large programs or multi-disciplinary delivery teams. Strong leadership and coaching capability, with the ability to uplift architecture practices and influence across architecture, engineering and business domains. Strong stakeholder engagement skills Proven ability to influence at senior levels and lead cross-functional teams Influence real change.
