Description What we are looking for A mid-level or Senior engineer who desires to apply their DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering skills to automate and streamline the delivery of a key Defence system. Key responsibilities include designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines, managing infrastructure with code, and developing automated testing, monitoring, and alerting systems. This role also involves security, troubleshooting, and working collaboratively to improve overall system performance and stability. What you will do Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines to automate the build, test, and deployment process. Use infrastructure as code tools like Terraform to manage and provision infrastructure, ensuring consistency and repeatability. Work with containerisation and orchestration technologies like Docker and Kubernetes to build, deploy, and manage scalable applications. Implement and maintain monitoring and alerting systems to track performance, identify issues, and ensure system health. Focus on the reliability, scalability, and performance of large-scale applications, which includes incident response and root cause analysis. Ensure systems meet security, privacy, and compliance requirements. Work closely with development teams to improve system reliability and integrate new practices. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues to maintain high system uptime. Maintain and improve disaster recovery and business continuity strategies. Perform release procedures using automation where possible, and ensure system is in a usable state. This may involve travelling to physical locations where management terminals are located. Proficiency with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, OpenShift). Experience with containerisation and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes). Strong scripting and automation skills (e.g., Python, Bash). Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., GitLab, GitHub). Solid understanding of system administration, especially in Linux/Unix environments. Knowledge of monitoring tools (e.g., Kibana, Elasticsearch, Logstash). Strong problem-solving and communication skills. Experience working in agile, cross-functional teams. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Networking, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Computer Systems Engineering or Software Engineering or related field.
