Description We are currently recruiting for an Estimating Officer – Capital Works to join our Customer and Network Services division. This role can be based within the Essential Energy footprint . About the Role As an Estimating Officer – Capital Works, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, accurate estimating services to support the planning and execution of capital works across our Network Operations Division. You will work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure estimates are feasible, cost-effective, and aligned with organisational goals. Key responsibilities include: Preparing and reviewing final works estimates and instructions, ensuring feasibility and compliance with safety regulations. Analysing system databases to develop work pack instructions and escalate data quality issues. Determining resource and material requirements and liaising with stakeholders to improve delivery efficiency. Maintaining fieldwork knowledge to support effective resource allocation. Managing project forecast variations and entering capital project costs into financial systems. Initiating approval workflows and providing analysis for project variations. Supporting management in meeting budget targets and prioritising capital works. Recommending improvements to enhance estimating processes and divisional strategies. Supporting other areas of the branch as required. About You You are a detail-oriented professional with strong estimating experience in an energy distribution environment. You bring a collaborative mindset, technical expertise, and a commitment to continuous improvement. With your ability to manage multiple priorities and build strong stakeholder relationships, you’re ready to contribute to the future of energy at Essential Energy. Qualifications: Required: Certificate IV in Project Management or equivalent experience. Desirable: Electrical trade knowledge. Frontline Management training. Valid driver’s licence.
