Description We are currently recruiting a Power Systems Analytics Specialist to join our Future Networks team within the Assets and Digital division. This role can be based anywhere within our operational footprint. With increasing customer access to solar, storage, and electric vehicles, network performance and customer outcomes are becoming more complex. This role helps address those challenges through advanced analytics and modelling, including power system analysis. The Power Systems Analytics Specialist is responsible for delivering clean, reliable datasets, well-documented models, and reproducible analyses that support forecasts, scenario assessments, and operational decisions. This role applies data science and statistical techniques to extract insights from complex datasets, enabling improved decision-making for power system reliability and performance. The role will involve the end-to-end development and application of various tools, data modelling, data mining, statistical techniques, algorithms, and machine learning principles to identify trends, patterns, and insights from raw data. Key Responsibilities Lead the end-to-end development of analytical solutions – from problem definition and data sourcing to model deployment and outcome delivery. Contribute to a range of analytical activities that support Future Networks projects and Strategic Network Analytics accountabilities. The work may include: Deliver high-quality analytics and modelling to support power system planning and operations, Build, validate, and document models and dashboards for forecasting, demand management, DER integration, anomaly detection, and orchestration of controlled load Support computations for load flow, stability studies, and reliability metrics Apply statistical and machine learning techniques to SCADA, EMS, and asset datasets. Collaborate with engineers, analysts, and BI teams to develop robust analytical solutions. Contribute to workshops to develop methodologies, design products, and plan delivery, Provide peer review of methodologies, code implementation, and published materials to support continuous improvement across the team’s activities, desktop research on technical methods and market trends to inform solution design and team knowledge. Communicate findings through clear visualisations, reports, and presentations ensuring analytical outputs are aligned with business needs and deliver actionable insights that support strategic and operational decisions. Ensure compliance with organisational standards and regulatory requirements Promote safety, equity, diversity, and inclusion across all operations About You As a Power Systems Analytics Specialist, you will bring strong analytical skills, a passion for data, and a keen interest in the energy sector. You will be experienced in data science or analytics and capable of working both independently and collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams. Experience with platforms such as Databricks, Python/SQL, and cloud-based environments is highly desirable. Familiarity with SCADA, ESM and asset datasets is a plus.
