About the role We are seeking a Corporate Sustainability Officer to join our Environment and Sustainability team on a parental leave cover. This role supports the integration of sustainability principles across Council operations, focusing on energy, water, waste, emissions, fleet and procurement initiatives. On a daily basis you will: Coordinate environmental audits, retrofits and operational changes across Council facilities and services Analyse and report on corporate sustainability indicators to inform decision-making Manage Council’s environmental sustainability data platform and ensure accurate tracking of utility usage and emissions Oversee contracted energy and water efficiency projects, ensuring timely and budget-conscious delivery Collaborate with service units to implement sustainability measures and staff engagement programs About you You are a data-driven decision-maker with a passion for driving environmental performance with extensive experience in environmental sustainability or related field. You will also bring: Proven project management experience including budgeting and contracts Strong ability to influence behavioural change through environmental education Proficiency in data analysis, database management and reporting, particularly utility and emissions data High-level interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills Advanced computer literacy including trend analysis and data interpretation Qualifications Tertiary qualifications in environmental science, environmental management or a related discipline Current Class C Driver’s Licence What’s on offer This is a Full Time Term Contract (Parental Leave Cover) Up to October 2026. We are offering an attractive remuneration from $96,262.36 to $106,006.97 plus 12% superannuation.
