Employer: Established Volvo & Scania truck dealership Location: Bendigo, Victoria Pay Rate: $45$50 per hour (commensurate with skills and experience) Environment: Stable, professional workshop servicing a broad range of trucks and trailers Experience: Open to all experience levels; remuneration scaled accordingly Role Overview Join a reputable Volvo and Scania dealership workshop delivering diagnostics, repairs, and scheduled maintenance across a mixed portfolio of heavy trucks and trailers. Youll work to OEM standards, liaise with Service Advisors, and contribute to a high-performance, safety-first culture. Key Responsibilities Perform dealership-level diagnostics and repairs on Volvo and Scania trucks: engines, transmissions, drivelines, steering, air brakes, EBS/ABS, air suspension, cooling, and hydraulics. Conduct electronic fault-finding using OEM diagnostic platforms (e.g., Volvo Tech Tool, Scania SDP3), including CAN-bus, aftertreatment/DEF systems, DPF/SCR, and sensor calibrations. Complete scheduled servicing (A/B/C) with test drives, quality control sign-off, and clear repair order documentation. Service and repair trailer systems: brakes, load-sensing valves, lighting looms, couplings, suspension bushes, and air systems. Carry out pre-delivery inspections, PTO and accessory installations, minor fabrication/fit-outs in line with OEM guidelines. Execute warranty and recall work per OEM processes, including accurate time-coding and parts requisitions. Attend breakdowns/field service on roster when required; perform safe roadside triage and repair recommendations. Uphold safety, compliance, and housekeeping standards; follow torque procedures, lock-out/tag-out, and QA checklists. Communicate clearly with Service Advisors and customers; provide findings, estimates, and repair options. Support team performance by sharing best practices and mentoring apprentices where appropriate. Skills & Qualifications Trade qualification in Heavy Vehicle/Heavy Diesel (or equivalent). Experience with European heavy vehicles (Volvo/Scania advantageous). Strong diagnostic capability across electrical, electronic, and aftertreatment systems; able to interpret technical schematics and OEM procedures. Sound documentation habits and commitment to safety and quality. Desirable (not essential): MR/HR licence, brake tester experience, exposure to trailer maintenance.
