About the role DroneShield is seeking an Algorithms Engineer with relevant experience to join the development team in Sydney, Australia. The position will report to the Algorithms Lead for the project. The role primarily focuses on the development and testing of algorithms for a high-throughput, real-time data processing system that utilises ML algorithms for a defence application. Responsibilities, Duties and Expectations Design and implement algorithms that run in a high throughput, real time system. Keep up to date with research in relevant fields and propose improvements to the existing system. Expand validation / test pipelines that verify and monitor algorithm performance. Assist data engineers with expansion and maintenance of datasets for algorithm development and testing. Maintain working knowledge of RF and cutting-edge Electronic Warfare. Qualifications, Experience and Skills Must have: BS degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics or similar technical field of study or equivalent practical experience. 3 Years experience in an algorithm development role. Proven ability to research, design and integrate algorithms into high-performance software, operating on sensor data. Proficiency in Python. Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team, communicating effectively with systems, software, full-stack and data engineers. Good to have Solid fundamental knowledge of linear algebra, probability, statistics and software engineering. Experience with tracking, sensor fusion, machine learning, DSP, optimisation. Familiarity with Git workflows and Docker. Comfortable in a Linux environment. Experience with RF and Electronic Warfare. Knowledge of C++. Familiarity with heterogeneous computing principles and CUDA programming. Security Requirements Must be an Australian citizen Must have a traceable and verifiable work history for the past 5 years Must hold (or be eligible to obtain) an Australian Security Clearance (Baseline or NV1 is ideal).
