THE COMPANY We are seeking an accomplished Station Manager to lead the operations of a 31,000-hectare property with a predominant focus on mixed cattle & sheep grazing enterprises, including breeding and opportunistic trading. Irrigated pastures, cropping and hay production compliment the livestock enterprise with extensive river frontage situated on the Lower Murrumbidgee flood plain. This role demands a hands-on commercially focused leader who can deliver strong production outcomes while ensuring long-term sustainability and growth. THE OPPORTUNITY This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for optimising productivity, profitability, and capital performance across all aspects of the station’s operations. Reporting directly to the CEO and Board, you will have full accountability for enterprise planning, financial management, staff leadership, and strategic project delivery. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES Drive financial performance through effective enterprise planning, livestock and crop marketing, and strategic use of water and carbon assets. Oversee all operational activities across cattle, sheep, cropping, and pastures with a focus on maximising return on investment. Lead budgets, cash flow, and monthly reporting, ensuring discipline in financial oversight. Maintain and upgrade infrastructure to preserve and enhance property value. Provide strong leadership to a small but capable team, fostering a high-performance culture and ensuring adherence to safety and compliance standards. Engage directly with the Board and CEO on strategy, capital investment, and business growth initiatives. Build strong external networks with contractors, suppliers, and government stakeholders to support the commercial success of the enterprise. THE REQUIREMENTS Proven track record in managing large-scale enterprises with strong commercial results. Significant experience in budget control, financial reporting, and enterprise-level decision-making. Hands-on operational capability, balanced with the ability to manage strategic priorities and deliver to Board-level expectations. Strong leadership and people management skills, with experience in building and retaining high-performing teams. Commercial acumen and adaptability to respond quickly to market, seasonal, and environmental changes.
