E73 is partnering with a leading mining company to recruit an experienced Senior Mining Engineer – Haulage Scheduling for one of their flagship open-cut coal operations in the Bowen Basin. This is a pivotal technical role within the short to medium-term planning team, responsible for haulage optimisation, truck and shovel scheduling, and delivering data-driven solutions that lift site productivity and efficiency. Key Responsibilities Develop, manage, and optimise haulage schedules, dig/dump designs, and truck & shovel sequencing using Spry. Conduct detailed cycle time analysis, fleet modelling, and haul route optimisation to identify cost and efficiency gains. Collaborate closely with production and technical teams to ensure alignment between schedules and operational priorities. Produce and communicate high-quality reports that track performance and compliance to plan. Support continuous improvement initiatives across mine planning and haulage systems. Provide mentoring and technical guidance to junior engineers within the planning team. About You Degree in Mining Engineering or a related discipline. Minimum 5 years’ experience in open-cut coal mining, with a strong focus on scheduling. High-level proficiency in Spry (haulage modelling, scheduling, and reporting). Sound understanding of mine design, pit optimisation, and cost management. Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, production-focused environment.
