The Gig Step into a key HSE Advisor role supporting safety and environmental performance across a large infrastructure project. Reporting to the Delivery Manager and collaborating with engineers, supervisors, and subcontractors, you’ll play a hands-on role ensuring health, safety, and environmental compliance across multiple work fronts. From hazard identification and incident investigation to system improvements and cultural engagement, you’ll be central to driving a proactive safety culture on site, protecting people, reducing risk, and strengthening sustainable practices. You will be trusted with: Conducting daily and weekly site inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance Supporting and refining the HSE Management System, processes, and documentation Undertaking and reviewing task-based risk assessments and high-risk work permits Investigating incidents, near misses, and unsafe acts, and driving corrective actions Leading daily pre-starts, toolbox talks, site inductions, and safety briefings Assisting in the development and implementation of Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS) Promoting awareness of environmental controls, erosion, dust suppression, and site cleanliness Developing and communicating Emergency Response Plans and First Aid readiness Monitoring subcontractor compliance and assisting with site audits Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives to raise safety culture and performance Preparing safety reports and trend analysis for project management Acting as a point of contact for on-site health, safety, and environmental queries What’s In Your Toolbox? Minimum 3 years’ experience in an HSE role within the civil or construction industry Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (or higher) Strong knowledge of WHS legislation, risk management, and incident reporting Experience managing or contributing to HSE systems on active civil construction sites Confident communicator who engages teams and builds a strong safety culture White Card and current Driver’s License You’re the kind of person who thrives on site, confident, calm, and always thinking two steps ahead .
