Check out our 90 second video at https://intium.com.au Position Overview: We are seeking a dynamic Senior Design Manager to lead and manage design teams within Intium, ensuring our products and services are scalable, functional, and aligned with strategic and financial objectives. This role involves planning and coordinating complex engineering work, applying international best practices, and delivering innovative, accurate, and cost-effective design solutions across energy transition projects. You will oversee all design activities, provide specialist technical advice, and ensure high standards of quality and compliance. The position also requires strong leadership to manage a team of professional design managers and drive excellence in design delivery. About You You are a strategic thinker with a passion for innovation and excellence in design. You thrive in fast-paced environments and have a proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams. Your strong business acumen and technical expertise enable you to manage complex projects and deliver high-quality outcomes. About your skills You possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to present complex design concepts to diverse stakeholders. Your strategic and tactical thinking supports the delivery of user-friendly design solutions. Your analytical and research capabilities allow you to translate insights into innovative design strategies. You are adaptable, organised, and capable of managing multiple priorities while maintaining high standards of quality and compliance. Required Qualifications Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering, Project Management, or demonstrated capability through relevant qualifications and past employment experience. Desired experience Proven experience in Design Management, particularly on large-scale infrastructure or energy transition projects In-depth knowledge of HV substations, transmission design, grid connection requirements, renewable energy, and EVCI technologies Practical experience in design and construction with a focus on safety and cost-effective strategies Extensive knowledge of Australian and International Standards and Codes of Practice Strong understanding of legislation, policies, and procedures relevant to design and specifications Demonstrated ability to lead internal and external design teams and manage stakeholder relationships Experience in collaborating with engineers, product managers, and project teams to develop effective solutions Why Join Us: At Intium, we are attracting diverse talent who want to make a real difference with a career that matters.
