The Opportunity We are seeking a Senior Financial Crime Adviser to join our Australia & Asia Financial Crime Team in our Sydney office. If you have 4 years’ experience in Financial Crime, this role could be your next step. Key responsibilities will include: Develop and implement financial crime policies, systems, procedures and controls. Monitor regulatory changes and support policy updates. Conduct risk assessments and track remediation progress. Provide expert advice to practice groups and business units on financial crime compliance. Support management of financial crime risks for new business and client onboarding. Act as escalation point for unusual activity reports and complex referrals. Support investigation and resolution of financial crime incidents, including post-incident policy reviews and lessons learnt. Promote a culture of compliance and ethical conduct. Support responses to regulatory enquiries, audits and surveys. To be successful in this role, you will have: A bachelor’s degree in law, finance or business administration. Relevant processional certification from ACAMS, ICA or others. A minimum of 4 years’ experience in financial crime, preferably in legal, banking or professional services. Demonstrated technical expertise in financial crime legislation, including AML/CTF regulations and economic and trade sanctions. Excellent research and analytical skills. Strong commercial awareness and understanding of risk implications. Ability to prioritise workload and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy. Capable of working autonomously in a fast-paced environment. Outstanding verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Comfortable working under pressure and meeting deadlines. The team: The Financial Crime team forms part of the New Business Intake and Enterprise Risk ("NBI & ER") function and is well- established globally. It is embarking on an exciting journey to set up to align with the anticipated new regulations being introduced in Australia, and to align with shifting markets globally. The Australian team is primarily based in Sydney and Melbourne, and we work closely with our global colleagues in the UK and Asia.
