Now Hiring: Senior Youth Case Worker – AOD Services Location: Rowes Bay, Townsville Classification: SCHADS Level 5 Status: Full-time, Permanent Why this Role Matters The Salvation Army (Salvos) is one of Australia’s largest providers of alcohol and other drug (AOD) programs including withdrawal management, residential and non-residential rehabilitation, and harm reduction programs. Salvos services go beyond addressing the core issues and challenges associated with problematic substance abuse and provide participants a place of hope, compassion, and dignity to recover safely. About the Role As the Senior Youth Case Manager , you'll be a key part of the leadership team, reporting directly to the AOD Client Services Lead. You'll provide expert guidance and supervision to case managers across our Youth Residential and Youth Outreach programs — including services in Ayr, Ingham, and Charters Towers . How you will make an impact: You'll coordinate service delivery across pre- and post-residential support , ensuring a consistent, high-quality approach aligned with The Salvation Army's best-practice frameworks: Journey to Independence Model of Care Psychologically Informed Environment (PIE) Lead and support a team of case managers delivering tailored AOD support Oversee service delivery across residential, outreach, and housing programs Ensure services are trauma-informed and client-focused Foster collaboration across internal teams including FDV, youth, and homelessness services Contribute to continuous improvement in program delivery This role includes participation in the on-call leadership roster. What You Will Bring A degree in Social Work, Social Sciences or a related field (essential) Proven experience in leading and supervising staff A strong background in AOD case management, ideally in a residential setting Working with Children Check – Blue Card (required before starting) Current driver’s license First aid certificate preferable What we offer The Salvos offer eligible employee's a well-balanced package of meaningful benefits including: Salary packaging up to $15,900 tax free $2,650 meal entertainment benefit.
