The CDSB Facilities team, part of the Department of Customer Services, Open Data and Small and Family Business, delivers a wide range of facility management services to internal stakeholders. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in leading the planning and implementation of the department's capital works program across its portfolio of owned and leased properties.As the Principal Advisor, you will:- Lead the planning, development, and management of the capital works program, ensuring project outputs and outcomes are effectively reviewed, monitored, and delivered.- Contribute to budget development for the capital works program, including monitoring project costs, managing risks, and providing accurate and timely reporting on project status and performance.- Oversee the planning, delivery, implementation, and procurement of capital works projects, ensuring compliance with relevant policies, procedures and legislative requirements, act as a subject matter expert during tender evaluations.- Engage, negotiate, and collaborate with internal and external clients, stakeholders, and consultants to ensure alignment, effective communication and resolution of project-related matters.- Provide expert support, advice, and guidance to colleagues and stakeholders across the organisation to build capability and achieve project and organisational objectives.To thrive in this role, you will need to demonstrate the following:- Ability to rapidly acquire an understanding of stakeholder requirements to inform program prioritisation and guide the preparation of high-quality project proposals.- Collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders to align work priorities with broader organisational commitments, ensuring timely and successful delivery of outcomes.- Demonstrate the ability to apply project and program methodology to support the delivery and review of projects, including the preparation of clear, comprehensive project documentation.- Manage major and minor capital works projects through all stages of planning, development and implementation.- Proactively challenge existing approaches by asking questions, exploring new models, and adopting innovative practices to enhance the team's effectiveness.Refer to the Role Description for a full list of responsibilities and what we are looking for.Join our team - deliver excellence in customer service, make a difference and shape the future of Queensland.
