The key duties of the position include The Role Army Compliance and Assurance Unit (ACAU) is looking for an Assurance Assessor to work closely with an integrated team of specialists and become a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for assurance activities. The Assurance Streams, which are open for recruitment in Darwin, are: Personnel and Business (P&B), Supply Chain (SC), Workplace Health and Safety (WHS), or Security (SY). Some key duties of this role include, but are not limited to: Continual review and development of assurance processes for the respective stream to ensure compliance, Participate on assurance activities to ensure compliance with technical regulation, Support unit corrective action remediation and reporting within the identified process for non-compliance, Assist with all compliance and assurance activities and reporting on findings, Provide compliance and assurance analysis and performance measurement, detail audit findings and recommendations for improvement of Army's governance. Provide advice to stakeholders on compliance policies and regulations, Work collaboratively in a team based environment, actively participating in and contributing to team meetings and exchange information to support the work area and team objectives. Provide administrative support to the unit including facility and asset management, Interpret and comply with legislative, policy and regulatory frameworks. About our Team ACAU is an Army unit to provide compliance and assurance to the Chief of Army. The unit, consisting of full time and part time uniformed members as well as APS SMEs, provide guidance and direction for all areas of governance. The team is extremely supportive and experienced in compliance and assurance activities, working collaboratively with both internal and external stakeholders to deliver good governance across Army. Our Ideal Candidate The successful candidate will have an understanding of and a proven ability to apply compliance and assurance techniques within either the SC, WHS, SY or P&B management functions. They are accountable to have and maintain a well-developed understanding of compliance to relevant legislative frameworks, government decision-making and Army's mission and policy requirements. To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate: Previous compliance and audit experience, Sound written and verbal communication skills, Experience in understanding and implementing government policy, Analytical skills, including sound judgement and the ability to interpret legislation, policy, procedures and data to form evidence-based recommendations, The ability to interpret legislation and complex matters then communicate in a clear and easy to understand manner, Ability to use data and other supporting evidence when making decisions relating to assurance activities and to provide this in a written format to both internal and external stakeholders, Ability to build positive, collaborative working relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
