About the Role We’re looking for talented lawyers with a passi on for technology law and at least 4 years post-qualification experience to join our high-performing legal team. This is a unique opportunity to partner with and advise a critical business unit, acting as the primary point of contact for all technology-related legal matters. You’ll be regarded as a trusted advisor, influencing strategic decisions and enabling Vicinity Centres ’ technology strategy . As Legal Counsel, you’ll advise and support Vicinity Centres on a wide range of technology initiatives, including IT procurement , cyber security, digital marketing , data privacy, and AI-related matters. You’ll draft and negotiat e BAU and complex technology contracts, and collaborate with and influence a broad range of stakeholders. Reporting to the Managing Legal Counsel, this role plays a key part in supporting Vicinity’s technology initiatives and strategic objectives . Your work will help deliver critical projects and contribute to our strategic pillar of Enabling Good Business . What You’ll Do Provide expert legal advice on technology procurement, data protection, privacy, and AI. Draft and negotiate technology contracts and commercial agreements. Identify and mitigate legal risks while ensuring compliance with laws and regulations. Support process improvement and automation , including AI enablement activities across Vicinity. Act as the go-to advisor for technology-related matters across the business. Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to deliver strategic outcomes. What You’ll Bring At least 4 years PQE in technology -relat ed practice areas , with strong capabilities in commercial contracting . Exceptional drafting, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills. Strategic thinker with outstanding business acumen and attention to detail. Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. Admission to practice law in Australia and tertiary legal qualifications. Why Join Vicinity?
