Temporary full-time role until the end of March 2026 with potential to be extended further Parramatta location with hybrid working supported TRP from $307K to $345K including superannuation, commensurate with experience Through a Whole of NSW Government EOI the Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure (DPHI) is seeking a visionary executive to lead our Energy and Resource Assessment function for the Development Assessments and Sustainability (DAS) team as part of the Planning Group . This temporary role offers a unique opportunity to take the lead on major energy and resource initiatives, influence policy development, and contribute meaningfully to a more sustainable future for NSW until March 2026 with potential to be extended further. The role As Executive Director Energy & Resource Assessments , you’ll lead the assessment and determination of major energy and resource projects across NSW, including mining and renewables. You’ll drive policy and process improvements, manage complex stakeholder relationships, and ensure that projects are assessed efficiently and transparently, balancing the needs of communities, industry, and government priorities. You’ll face challenges like reducing assessment timeframes without sacrificing quality, navigating politically sensitive projects, and leading teams through complex, high-impact work. Your focus will be on delivering sustainable outcomes, streamlining processes, and supporting NSW’s energy transition while maintaining robust governance and risk management. Significant experience at a senior executive level managing large and complex resources to achieve key organisational objectives.
