The School of Economics within FASS is recruiting a Research Assistant (Life Course Centre) who is responsible for collaborating with academics attached to the ARC Centre of Excellence for Children and Families over the Life Course (( Life Course Centre ) on a range of projects that address the issue of persistent disadvantage with behavioural economics, experimental economics, and applied economics methods. Your key responsibilities will be to: econometric analysis of large-scale micro-level unit record data for analysis literature searches assisting in the drafting of research papers assisting with the development of presentations assisting with preparing and running economic laboratory experiments contribute to research development undertake ad-hoc projects and activities About you graduated or in last year of the Honours / Master program (please attach your transcript on your application) ability to work both independently and as part of a team, taking initiative and exercising sound judgement in resolving matters that arise as part of normal daily work advanced skills in data analysis (e.g., STATA, Python, and/or R) and reporting on research findings excellent interpersonal and communication skills interest in a broad range of contemporary economic and social policy issues associated with entrenched disadvantage, inequality, and social mobility strong academic track record in economics and applied econometrics strong problem solving skills and the ability to use initiative and exercise sound judgement and ability to prioritise workload during busy periods experience in developing and conducting independent research projects, including carrying out scientific literature searches, developing research methodologies, conducting data analyses, and writing up research findings.
