About the Job We are seeking an experienced Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) Manager who is as passionate about people as they are about promoting a strong safety culture. This role is pivotal in ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient operations across the farming enterprise. While primarily office-based, you’ll spend time on-site engaging with teams, conducting inspections, and ensuring that safety systems are practical, effective, and aligned with both legislative and business requirements. This is a full-time permanent position (approximately 38 to 44 hours per week) with a starting rate of $38.00 per hour , negotiable based on skills and experience. Flexibility is also available for the right candidate. Key Responsibilities In this role, you’ll: Lead and coordinate WHS management across all farming operations Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments Maintain and continuously improve WHS systems, policies, and procedures Support incident investigations and develop corrective action plans Deliver WHS training and toolbox talks to promote awareness and accountability Oversee compliance documentation and reporting requirements Collaborate with management to drive a proactive safety culture Ensure adherence to relevant WHS legislation, codes, and standards Support in Place You won’t be starting from scratch! The existing team has established WHS systems and processes, and you’ll have the full support of management and experienced staff to help you succeed in the role. The Ideal Candidate We’re looking for someone who is approachable, organised, and ready to make a positive impact. You’ll bring: Proven experience in WHS management (preferably within agriculture, logistics, or a similar operational environment) A solid understanding of WHS legislation and compliance frameworks Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to engage and influence teams Confidence in conducting audits, investigations, and training sessions Strong computer and reporting skills (Excel, Word, and WHS management systems) A current driver’s licence and willingness to travel between farm sites Extra brownie points if you have: Experience with Freshcare, Sedex, or Fair Farms compliance A background in farming, agriculture, or agribusiness Qualifications in Work Health and Safety or related disciplines What’s in it for You?
