The Opportunity We’re looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to join our Finance team. This role is a great fit for someone who has a solid grounding in accounting and wants to broaden their experience across accounts, compliance, and reporting in a fast-paced environment. You’ll work closely with the Financial Accountant and Financial Controller to ensure accurate reporting, compliance with government obligations, and smooth day-to-day finance operations. Your responsibilities will include: Manage Accounts Receivable , including discounts and trading terms accounting. Support month-end reporting , including reconciliations, accruals/prepayments and journal entries. Assist with excise and customs duty management and compliance. Administer and report on state and federal government schemes (e.g. container deposit scheme). Provide ad hoc finance support to the wider team as required. What are we looking for? Degree-qualified (or working towards) in Accounting, Finance or related discipline. 2 years’ experience in a similar finance role (Assistant Accountant / Accounts Officer). Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with excellent organisational skills. Confident working with spreadsheets and ERP systems (Oracle experience highly regarded).
