Canberra Institute of Technology (CIT) is seeking a Senior Project Manager – Centres of Excellence to provide program leadership across the Electric Vehicle TAFE Centre of Excellence and the Cyber Security TAFE Centre of Excellence. These Centres are jointly funded under the National Skills Agreement flagship initiatives, addressing critical national skills shortages in clean transport and digital security. This position offers the opportunity to manage complex project portfolios in an exciting tertiary innovation space, helping to shape the future workforce in industries vital to Australia’s prosperity. What we are looking for: We’re seeking a highly skilled project management professional with demonstrated experience leading large, multi-project programs in complex organisations. You will bring expertise in program planning, delivery, risk management, and stakeholder engagement, with the ability to guide and mentor staff. What you will do: Provide program management leadership across both the EV and Cyber Security Centres of Excellence. Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of projects to ensure milestones and deliverables are achieved. Manage budgets, forecasts, and resources, ensuring effective use of program funding. Lead the development of reports, briefs, dashboards, and analysis for government and CIT Executive. Implement risk management frameworks and oversee issue resolution. Ensure compliance with legislation, government agreements, and CIT policies. Supervise and mentor two project officers. What you need: Demonstrated experience in leading complex, multi-project programs in education, government, or related sectors. Advanced knowledge of project and program management methodologies, tools, and systems. Expertise in risk management, including frameworks and resolution of complex issues. High-level financial management skills including budgeting, forecasting and reporting Superior written and verbal communication skills, with experience preparing executive-level reports and briefs.
