This is a rare opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a leadership role that spans commercial, property, construction, and government law. As General Counsel, you’ll report directly to the Chief Executive Officer and work closely with the Executive and Senior Leadership teams. You’ll manage complex legal matters, drive compliance, and lead negotiations that shape the future of our region. 5 Year Contract based in Dalby Key Responsibilities Lead and manage the Legal Services Team. Provide authoritative legal advice across a broad range of matters. Represent Council in complex negotiations and legal proceedings. Ensure legal compliance and risk management across operations. Resolve major legal and contractual disputes. Conduct legal research to support Council decision-making. About Yourself You’re a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of legal frameworks in a government context. You hold relevant tertiary qualifications and ideally a current Queensland practising certificate (or the ability to obtain one). You’ll bring: Proven experience in providing legal advice in a local government or similar environment. Strong knowledge of governance, legislation, and policy development.
