With over 700 dedicated professionals across Brisbane and regional offices, we work tirelessly to ensure that Queensland's communities, businesses and water resources thrive.The Role:Operating from within the Water Resource Management Division, you will be responsible for leading the department's Water Measurement framework, strategic compliance and regulatory approach, intelligence, major investigations and prosecutions functions. This role provides key support to critical programs and operational delivery of the department's Water Measurement Policy and Regulatory Strategy. As the Director, Water Measurement, Strategic Compliance and Investigations you will lead and manage a multi-disciplinary team and working collaboratively to embed a culture of continuous improvement and support delivery of the department's role as a best practice Water Regulator.Key Accountabilities:- Lead and manage service delivery across a range of functions and projects that deliver business improvement, best practice regulatory and compliance capability and develop systems and frameworks to support effective outcomes.- Ensuring consistent regulatory outcomes across Queensland by partnering with key internal and external stakeholders and delivery teams.- Leading the delivery of the department's water measurement framework and supporting implementation across the non-urban water measurement policy, telemetry subsidy and rollout, measurement requirements and overland flow project.- Leading the delivery of the department's Regulatory Strategy and intelligence led compliance approach, including major investigations and prosecutions.- Represent the Department on national committees related to regulation in the Murray-Darling Basin and collaborate with other Basin State regulators and government agencies.- Prepare complex briefings and submissions for the Minister, the Premier, the Director-General and other senior government officials and stakeholders providing timely and accurate advice on complex issues.- Develop and maintain strong and collaborative relationships and project delivery across the Water Resource Management Division to enable consistent services and programs/projects.About You:- There are no mandatory requirements for this role, however experience in regulatory practice or a related discipline would be highly desirable:The Benefits:- Challenging projects with the opportunity to make a difference- Contribute to impactful water resource management across Queensland.- Contribute to vital water sustainability initiatives that benefit Queensland's communities and environment.DLGWV is committed to respecting, protecting and promoting human rights in our decision-making and actions.
