As a Senior Field Officer, you'll play a lead role in realising our vision of Skilled Queenslanders. You'll promote training and skills development to employers, schools, and individuals, while working closely with stakeholders to ensure they're equipped to perform at their best. By providing leadership, support and advice on the regional programs and services administered by the department, you'll help build a skilled workforce for Queensland and communicate our message to the wider community. About the role As the Senior Field Officer, you will: Provide leadership, guidance and advice to industry partners, client groups and stakeholders on the vocational training system in Queensland and programs delivered by the department. Work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team to support and oversee staff or operate independently depending on operational needs. Contribute to the development, implementation, management and evaluation of regional activities, including operational planning, system development, information management, data integrity and good governance processes. Collaborate with staff, clients and stakeholders to design and implement regional strategies that address workforce development challenges, support departmental objectives, enhance vocational education and training (VET) pathways, create opportunities for small businesses and improve employment outcomes for Queenslanders. What we are looking for The position requires an applicant who can: Deliver high-quality, well-researched advice, interpretation and feedback to senior managers, colleagues, clients and stakeholders on a wide range of issues impacting Queensland's VET system. This includes areas such as apprenticeships, traineeships, stakeholder capacity building and workforce development initiatives. Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, directives, and policies by investigating issues and complaints, gathering data, and preparing accurate reports and other documentation. Lead, mentor and coach staff to enhance their skills and knowledge, ensuring development activities are aligned to achieving performance benchmarks.
