Key Responsibilities: As Team Leader (Out-Posted), you will specifically: Provide supervision and professional development to staff in the use of evidenced based skills, programs and processes associated with reductions in re-offending. Provide support to the team members, who will be providing outreach services in collaboration with the Queensland Police Service. This may include supporting responses to critical incidents and complex situations, suicide risk management and complex situations. Allocate, prioritise, perform and quality assure individual tasks in accordance with departmental procedures and statutory, financial and administrative delegations. Participate in professional development and maintain knowledge of contemporary, evidence-based practice in working with young offenders, including relevant accreditation as required. Provide timely advice and assistance on complex matters to ensure the delivery of quality youth justice casework and restorative justice practices. Participate as a member of the youth co-responder staff and management teams and contribute to strategic and operational planning, reviews and key decision-making, where required. Develop collaborative, professional working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate cooperation on case related matters and restorative justice processes. Work with relevant colleagues and the Queensland Police Service to enhance 24/7 Co-Responder Team model, as required. Undertake and oversee data capturing, to ensure quality and consistency, including reporting to direct line managers on the progress of the model, where required. Assist in identifying trends and issues in client service delivery and evaluating client outcomes, including performance reporting, to ensure coordinated local service delivery. This includes liaising with existing service centre case managers, court coordinator and team leaders. Provide ongoing professional development, supervision and leadership to staff. Contribute to a departmental culture that ensures sensitive and effective communication with people from other cultures including people from Aboriginal and / or Torres Strait Islander backgrounds as well as an appreciation of cultural protocols and an awareness of the impacts of historical policies and practices. * Work collaboratively with police to provide an after-hours outreach response to identify alternatives to arrest and custody for young people.
