Painter-Blasters – SINO FIFO Project | 2:1 Roster | Early November Start | $60–$63/hr Flat Super | We’re recruiting for trade-qualified Painter-Blasters to join an upcoming FIFO project at SINO Iron, Cape Preston. Roster & Pay: 2:1 FIFO Roster: 7 days, 7 nights, 7 days RnR 12-hour shifts Flat rate paid on all hours (including super) FIFO from Perth | Excellent camp conditions About the Role: As a Painter-Blaster, you will play a key role in protective coatings and corrosion management across the SINO fixed plant. Using EONCoat and other industrial coatings, you will help maintain the integrity and longevity of structural steel, conveyors, chutes, and other plant assets. You will be part of a high-performing maintenance crew, working in a safety-critical, high-risk environment. The scope of work includes: Preparing surfaces by abrasive blasting all rusted areas to Class Sa2½ or above . Applying a three-coat system : Primer: SWD 8008 (50μm dry thickness) Intermediate: SWD 9526 (100μm dry thickness) Top coat: SWD 8029 (50μm dry thickness) Performing work in both short- and long-term projects , with all surfaces inspected by the client to ensure minimum quality standards are met. This role is suited to trade-qualified Industrial Painters / Blasters who are confident working at heights, in confined spaces, and on large-scale fixed plant infrastructure. You will gain ongoing experience in shutdowns, planned maintenance, and surface protection projects. Key Responsibilities: Prepare surfaces by abrasive blasting, cleaning, and removing corrosion, old coatings, and contaminants. Apply protective coatings, including EONCoat, to structural and mechanical assets. Support maintenance teams with minor repairs, structural touch-ups, and coating preparation. Inspect surfaces and ensure coating application meets technical specifications and site standards. Assist with setup and dismantling of scaffolding, work platforms, and containment areas as required. Maintain site safety and housekeeping, including barricading, exclusion zones, and fire watch duties. Follow all WHS, site procedures, and environmental protocols to ensure safe and compliant operations. Work on both short- and long-term projects, ensuring all corrosion work meets client inspection standards. Communicate effectively with maintenance crews and supervisors to coordinate work efficiently. Ensure adherence to coating thickness and quality specifications throughout the project.
