Operate specialised machinery, perform maintenance and repairs, respond to breakdowns, and ensure peak performance. Travel to various sites throughout the Pilbara, work closely with your crew, and grow your skills in the rail industry every day. Skills & experience Cert II Rail Infrastructure (minimum) Track Machine Operator (TLIC2054) (TLIC3045) Trade-qualified in mechanical or electrical (highly desirable but not required) Full C Class Driving Licence or higher with no restrictions (HR Licence preferred but not essential) Construction Card (white/blue) 4WD Training Proven experience as a Track Machine Operator Previous experience operating 09-3x Tamper & Unimat 4S Tampers Knowledge operating Tamper & Regulators Previous exposure to mining or remote work environments desirable Background in rail resurfacing equipment Ability complete and pass Rail Category 1 Rail Medical and drug and alcohol testing Duties & responsibilities Travel to multiple job sites as part of a mobile rail operations team Carry out preventative maintenance to reduce machine downtime Operate advanced rail resurfacing equipment in accordance with safety standards Operate Tampers and Regulators for both maintenance and construction projects Assist in multi-trade tasks and collaborate with maintenance crews Accurately document inspections and maintenance activities Conduct regular machinery checks and performance testing Uphold compliance with all company policies and industry regulations Actively engage in on-the-job learning to build rail-specific expertise Benefits Weekly pays People-first culture with a strong emphasis on employee well-being Access to state-of-the-art rail equipment and tools Opportunities to work on major rail networks across the Pilbara About the company Cat5 Rail is an 100% Australian-owned family business with over 16 years of experience delivering high-quality rail services in the Pilbara region.
