About the role The Mater Statewide Cancer Survivorship Service is seeking an experience and compassionate Medical Officer with an interest in sexual health and cancer survivorship care to join our multidisciplinary team based at Mater Hospital Brisbane on a part-time basis (0.1 FTE or 4 hours per week) until the end of current financial year. This part-time role allows you to make a meaningful impact in the lives of cancer survivors by supporting holistic, person-centered care that addresses their physical, emotional, and psychological needs following active cancer treatment. Mater Statewide Cancer Survivorship Service is the first tertiary survivorship program to offer a comprehensive multidisciplinary model of care supporting adult cancer survivors across Queensland and northern New South Wales. Salary: Commensurate with experience plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 access to many staff benefits! What you’ll be doing Provide comprehensive medical care to cancer survivors, with a focus on sexual health, hormonal management, and associated psychosocial concerns. Work closely with oncologists, specialist nurses, allied health professionals, and psychiatrists to deliver coordinated, evidence-based survivorship care. Develop and implement personalised survivorship care plans addressing cancer survivors’ unmet needs. Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute expert advice on sexual health management in cancer survivorship. Support education, research, and service development activities that enhance the quality and reach of the survivorship service. About you To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate: Clinical experience in menopause management, sexual health, and an interest in oncology-related care. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with sensitivity to the complex emotional and cultural needs of patients. A commitment to patient-centered, trauma-informed, and inclusive care. The ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. A passion for innovation and service improvement in cancer survivorship care. Essential Specialist Registration with AHPRA Desirable qualifications and experience Postgraduate training in sexual health medicine or related discipline. Why join us?
