Summary: We are seeking a dedicated Gardening and Home Maintenance Support Worker to assist seniors in maintaining their homes and gardens in Mandurah, Western Australia. This part-time role is essential in promoting the well-being and independence of older individuals by providing support in gardening tasks, ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment for them. The ideal candidate will have a passion for community service and a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for seniors. Responsibilities: Assist seniors with gardening tasks, including planting, weeding, lawn mowing, pruning, hedging, and other general garden maintenance tasks. Provide support in basic Home Maintenance tasks, including window cleaning, gutter cleaning, changing light globes Provide companionship and support to seniors while engaging in gardening and home maintenance activities. Ensure the safety and well-being of clients during gardening sessions. Communicate effectively with clients to understand their gardening preferences and needs. Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring tools and equipment are safely stored. Report any concerns regarding clients' health or safety to the appropriate personnel. Highly regarded but not essential: Certificate III in Individual Support or equivalent. experience in using powered gardening equipment Experience supporting older people and seniors in community and home settings. Experience working with people living with disability and complex needs. Competency in using smartphones and mobile devices with internet access. Commitment to quality care and a safety-first approach. Understanding of professional boundaries, privacy, and confidentiality.
