Job Description LY Lawyers Pty Ltd are amongst NSW leading Criminal Law Firms, specialising exclusively in Criminal Law. We have offices in Sydney, Liverpool and Wollongong. We are a hard working, close-knit team. We are looking for students who are currently undergoing their PLT Work experience component who are searching for experience in criminal law. Students can assist at our Liverpool and Sydney Office in the running of a busy criminal practice. The day to day duties will include, but are not limited to; Taking Calls and messages;diary management, including organising internal and external client meetings;Taking payments over the phone and in person;Managing the process of opening new clients and matters through to closure of a matter;Booking visits at Correctional Centres;Ad hoc Duties; Filing, scanning, attending to emails, printing emails and putting on file;Paralegal work including assisting our solicitors with criminal law cases;Attending court and instructing Barristers in Hearings, District Court and Supreme Court Trials To be successful for this role you must have; Strong communication and organisational skills;Work Calm under pressure;The ability to prioritise;The ability to multitask and be pro-active;Willingness to learn;Strong attention to detail;Some Accounts Clerk experience including data entry. Some Criminal Law Experience Is Preferred But Not Essential. Training and support will be provided with the possibility of paid employment.
