We support our children and families through Children’s Education and Care Centres, Family Support and Disability Services. About the role: We currently have an opportunity for an experienced and proficient Early Childhood Teacher/Educational Leader to join our SDN Redfern team in a full-time permanent capacity. About the centre Centrally located, SDN Redfern is a purpose-built 58-place long day care centre and preschool, providing high quality care and learning in a safe and welcoming space that supports the inclusion of every child. The outdoor spaces provide safe and stimulating environments for children to explore and learn in the heart of Redfern. About the Job: In this leadership role you will be supporting the Centre Director in daily centre operations while leading and promoting a culture of reflective practice, ensuring individual children’s strengths, interests and needs are identified and their learning enhanced through meaningful curriculum. This includes: Leading and implementing the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and National Quality Standards Inspiring and leading the development, delivery and evaluation of a quality early learning program. Mentoring and coaching the team in the development of the practical and technical skills required to deliver a quality early learning program Role modelling and teaching ‘best practice’ around mealtimes, sleep routines and interactions with children. Working in partnership with the Centre Director and team members to promote and enhance a culture of learning , critical reflection and creativity, and putting children at the centre of everything you achieve together. About you: To be successful in this newly created position, you will have extensive supervisory experience working in a childcare environment caring for children aged 0 to 5. You can demonstrate an excellent understanding of current early childhood best practice along with a working knowledge of the National Quality Standards and the requirements of childcare centres. This experience will be supported by a university qualification in Early Childhood Education and NESA Proficient accreditation. A current senior first aid certificate with asthma and anaphylaxis certificate is desirable.
